Summary:
Our research questions were
First, we studied the voting in China, which uses indirect voting. Indirect voting is where voters vote for officials who make the choice between candidates. Indirect voting is used for bigger elections where there is more power. We then studied voting in America, which uses direct voting. Direct voting is where voters vote for candidates for a certain seat. We compared the two countries way of voting and they were very different. Conclusion: From our research project, we found that China and America have very different voting processes. The countries use two different ways to vote, either direct or indirect. We found that China has a bigger voter turn out, due to their larger population. America is a democracy, while china is more complicated, being made of 5 different political systems. It is a communist state, unitary state, socialist state, one-party state, and a people's democratic dictatorship. Reflection: Personally, I like the way America does its voting system. Everyone individually votes. This allows everyone to have a say in the election, leaving no one out. The way China does their voting system is too much. China's voting system leaves many people's voices unheard because they vote for someone who is going to vote for them, making it very indirect. |
